Oh boy I’ve been waiting on this one! Especially after all the troubles I had on my order… But it arrived last friday and I was like a child on Christmas Day!

This Shinkansen is the last model put in service and a limited edition from Tomix: N700-8000 Sakura R10 8-car set. This train ran for the inauguration day of the Kyushu Shinkansen line and had special markings for the occasion. It was saying: “Congratulation Kyushu, please raise your arms!”.

You’ll guess why on the following video:

Japan loves trains, and japanese people are proud of their Shinkansen. On this video, JR congratulates every city reached by the Kyushu Shinkansen.

As I didn’t have a N700 series yet and having lived on Kyushu island for almost three months (sadly before the Shinkansen line was completed), I felt like this limited set was the perfect occasion for me to get my third Shinkansen model.

It looks awesome and the markings really add something on this incredible sharp shape. You don’t imagine how much I can’t wait to run it!!!!

Hey! Nice update. I’ve got one too. The photos don’t do it justice, do they?

    Cheers

My thought exactly! We don’t get the light blue on the pictures. That what stander out to me when I opened the box for the first time.

For the full review I’ll try to take picture in daylight not artificial light. This way I will hopefully be able to share the particular feeling of this train.
